SA Roy: No issue? What? Of all of the people that SHOULD be trusted, it should be a priest. Or, not?

But they will continue to hide, shelter, shuffle and otherwise refuse full disclosure to authorities.

I claim that the proportion of Catholic priests who are child abusers is no different than the proportion of males who abuse children in the general population. If that is true, then there is no real issue. If you believe it is not true, please provide a verifiable reference and I will gladly check it out. If you have no data, then there is still no issue. In other words, you are simply ranting and raving for various personal reasons, none of which do interest me.

How about demanding executions for the guilty, then it may stop.

I agree with the Survivors Network. This is an attempt of Pope Benedict and Rome PR to divert the heat. The heat of the knowledge of the crimes should fall on the TOP offices too. When we consider that statement, one only has to look back and see that the THEN CARDINAL RATZINGER - Now Pope Benedict knew all along about US and IRELAND abuse cases. He was the writer and go to guy for John Paul II. He wrote everything for him. John Paul had more of the PR presence, but Cardinal Ratzinger was one of the brains that ran the Vatican. Ratzinger knew of the abuses OVER 20 YEARS ago ! He could have done something then. Now he diverts the heat back to the Irish Bishops and tries to make a sympathetic approach to the Irish people...Good Luck Ratzinger !

He condems them and protects them, just like the bible---contradictions which allow for any behavior.
